It is the technical plan that connects the room, the show content, the presenters, remote attendees, and the production crew into one controlled system. Start With the Venue’s Technical Reality
Venue AV specifications are useful, but they are not a production design. Most documents describe installed inventory and room capabilities at a high level. They do not show the complete signal path, identify shared infrastructure, or explain how the system performs under the demands of a live multi-source program.
A proper technical review begins with the room itself: sightlines, ceiling height, loading access, power distribution, rigging points, ambient light, network availability, and control-room position. Those details determine whether projection will have enough contrast, whether an LED wall is a better choice, how cameras can be positioned without disrupting the audience, and how much cable infrastructure is required.
The next review is operational. Ask whether the venue system is dedicated to your room, whether another event can affect audio or network performance, and who has access to house DSP, lighting, and video routing. For a high-stakes keynote or product launch, however, the production team should define the critical path rather than assume the installed system is adequate.
Inventory Is Not the Same as Integration

A wireless microphone package needs coordinated frequencies and backup channels. A projector needs the correct lens, brightness, resolution, and redundant signal transport. Network ports need a verified wired path with the bandwidth and security approvals required for streaming.

Redundancy Must Match the Cost of Failure
